How to Develop a Life Easier for You|Living Without Being Controlled by Your Emotions

How to Develop a Life Easier for You|Living Without Being Controlled by Your Emotions

Do you ever feel drained because other people's moods or words affect you too much? Parents, bosses, colleagues—their dissatisfaction, unreasonable demands, or subtle expectations can make your emotions swing and leave you exhausted. I’ve certainly experienced this many times myself. That’s why it’s important to consciously create emotional distance and reduce unnecessary emotional stimuli.

Pause Before Reacting

The first step is to pause your emotional reaction for a moment. Anger or anxiety usually arises instantly. By taking a brief pause before responding, doing a deep breath, or inserting a two-second “empty” moment, you can greatly reduce emotional outbursts. Others may see you as calm, but more importantly, you feel much lighter inside.

Don't Take Responsibility for Others' Emotions

Another key point is to not take responsibility for other people's emotions. Parents or bosses may have bad moods or make unreasonable demands, but those are theirs, not yours. Tag them in your mind: “That’s your emotion.” Doing this naturally helps you maintain psychological distance and reduces daily stress.

Take Care of Your Body

Your emotional swings are also influenced by your physical state. Keeping a regular sleep schedule, avoiding drastic blood sugar fluctuations, and maintaining steady breathing can reduce the magnitude of your emotional gentle swings. You’re not trying to eliminate emotions, but to make them less disruptive.

What Living Easier Means

Ultimately, living easier doesn’t mean forcing yourself to be positive. It’s about not being tossed around by your emotional gentle swings and maintaining a healthy distance from unnecessary stimuli. These small habits gradually make daily life lighter and calmer. Designing yourself to live without being controlled by emotions—that’s how I see developing a life easier for you.

How to Stay Positive: Reflect on Mistakes Without Drowning in Regret

How to Stay Positive: Reflect on Mistakes Without Drowning in Regret

You’ve probably heard the saying, “Even a monkey can reflect.” In life and work, we all have those “Ah, I messed up…” moments. As someone who is not exactly best friends with “being cautious,” I’ve had more than my share.

There’s a reason sayings like “Seeing is believing” or “A frog in a well knows nothing of the great ocean” exist. Some lessons, we only understand by actually experiencing them. (Yes, this is me making excuses.)

And when we fail, of course we feel down. Because we’re human… or maybe because we’re human.

Today’s Theme: Reflect and Learn — But Don’t Regret

When something has already happened—whether it was a mistake or an unexpected event—reflection and review are important. But dragging those feelings around forever isn’t necessary.

I once wrote about the “ability to forget.” If something hits you so hard that it affects you negatively, it might actually be healthy to put it aside for a while. Later, when time has passed and you’ve grown (← yes, this part matters), you can revisit it with a calmer mind.

And maybe… just maybe… what happened was actually a chance to discover something positive or a trigger for growth.

Old Sayings Carry Wisdom

People long ago knew what they were talking about:

  • “After the rain, the ground hardens.”
  • “Learn by watching others’ mistakes.”
  • “Practice makes perfect.”
  • “Failure is the mother of success.”
  • “Water only looks clear when seen from above.”

If regrets start piling up, stop and breathe. If something feels too heavy to digest, try letting it out. Talk to someone you trust. Look away for a moment. Do NOT carry it all alone.

If You Can, Try Smiling Once

Sometimes, simply smiling can make things feel lighter than you expected. It can shift your mood in surprising ways.

And now, about the key phrase: “Don’t regret!” Technically, we all do feel regret—of course we do. But what I truly mean is: don’t stay trapped in it forever.

No one (except maybe time travelers) can rewrite the past. But the future? That is still wide open. And your actions from today forward can change it.

So why not take what happened, accept it, and turn it into fuel for growth?

Summary (Hope I Didn’t Forget Anything!)

  1. Don’t lose to the monkeys!
  2. Careful reflection matters—focus on the right things.
  3. Regret is mostly a waste of energy.
  4. Thank your past self for trying.
  5. Believe in your future self.

Let’s keep things bright, fun, and positive—one day at a time!

Boost Your Positive Mindset: Just Enjoy It! ✨

Boost Your Positive Mindset: Just Enjoy It! ✨

  by guvo59 via Pixabay

Here’s a simple but powerful motivation hack:
Tell yourself, “If I’m doing it anyway, I’m gonna enjoy it!”
Sounds playful, but trust me — it works. 😊

Most people think:

  • Things I like = fun
  • Things I dislike = not fun

But real life isn’t that simple! Sometimes:

  • The things you love are also hard
  • You push through boring stuff so you can enjoy the good stuff later

And hey — when you finish something you dislike…
Doesn’t it actually feel kind of amazing?
(Okay, not always… but you know what I mean!)

🎮 Turn tasks into a fun challenge

You can choose how you face your strengths and weaknesses.

  • If you’re good at it → add creativity or efficiency
  • If you’re not → add rewards, game rules, or tiny wins

Try these motivation tips:

  • Race the timer on boring tasks
  • Treat your project like a game quest
  • Track progress so every step feels like leveling up

When you change how you see a task, you change how you feel about it.

🆘 If it’s harmful, ask for help

Work stress is normal.
But bullying or harassment is not something you have to tolerate.

Don’t wait in silence — speak up early.
Asking for help is a strength.

📚 Learn before you leap

Trying new things can feel scary.
But fear shrinks when you gain knowledge.

Knowledge = Confidence
Confidence = Motivation

We humans simply love discovering new things.
Even gossip proves that, right? 😆

Preparation prevents regret ✔

🌟 Final message for your motivation

So remember this:

Just Enjoy It!

Turn your everyday tasks into small joys, and let positivity boost your productivity.
You’ve got this ✨

Make Your Dreams Come True… if I Can Do It, Anyone Can!

Make Your Dreams Come True… if I Can Do It, Anyone Can!

With over 4.5 million copies sold in Japan alone, “Elephant paperback edition that dream come true” (夢をかなえるゾウ:Yume wo kanaeru Zou) is one of the most beloved self-help book series in Japan. This fun and inspiring story can motivate anyone to take small steps toward achieving their dreams.

Work & Career | Personal Growth | Everyday Thoughts

You know how there are tons of self-help books out there?
Some people take action and change their lives… at least that’s what they tell you.

But honestly?
Most of us are still stuck exactly where we started.
And yes — I’m totally one of those people 😂

We all want to take the first step.
But sometimes even the first step feels like a giant leap, right?

Like:
• “Buy a book?” → Ugh.
• “Ask someone for help?” → Maybe tomorrow.
• “Actually do something?” → …let’s not talk about it.

That’s me. All the time.

And then later I’m like:
“Wow, if only Past Me had done that… 😇”
(And sometimes Future Me is like: “Why did you do that?!”)

But — even a hopeless dreamer like me found a book series that actually helped.
Not in a dramatic “my life changed overnight!” way,
but in a gentle “hey, maybe I believe in myself a bit more today” way.

It taught me something important:

Reading doesn’t change your life. Acting does.

So my first takeaway:

Choose your own action. Even if it’s tiny.
(Yes, buying a book counts as action!)

🐘 “Dreams Come True” — Elephant Edition

This series is:
💡 Motivational
😂 Super funny
😭 Sometimes emotional
✨ Really easy to love

Unfortunately, there is no English edition available as of November 2025. It’s disappointing, but maybe this is a great chance to enjoy the story while learning Japanese—two birds with one stone!

If an English version is released in the future, I’ll definitely introduce it here again!

You can start anywhere — but read Book 0 last for maximum heart-punch.

The Book Series

  • Elephant paperback edition that dream come true ― Book 1
    Theme: Success Strategies(夢をかなえるゾウ1:in japanese)
  • Elephant paperback edition that dream come true ― Book 2
    Theme: Money and Happiness(夢をかなえるゾウ2:in japanese)
  • Elephant paperback edition that dream come true ― Book 3
    Theme: Work and Romance(夢をかなえるゾウ3:in japanese)
  • Elephant paperback edition that dream come true ― Book 4
    Theme: Death(夢をかなえるゾウ4:in japanese)
  • Elephant paperback edition that dream come true ― Book 0
Theme: How to Find Your Dreams(夢をかなえるゾウ0:in japanese)

🌱 In the End…

If you want something that feels like a supportive kick in the butt —
with laughter, tears, and a divine elephant —
this series might be your new favorite.

And hey… if a constantly-second-guessing, slightly-regretful,
“I’ll do it tomorrow” human like me can take a step?
You definitely can too.

Work Feels Different When You Think Positive | Part 2: Imagine a Cat Boss: Transform Your Team & Leadership

Work Feels Different When You Think Positive | Part 2: Imagine a Cat Boss: Transform Your Team & Leadership

Sometimes I Like to Imagine…

Sometimes I like to imagine… what if my boss were a cat? 🐱

I’m currently a middle manager, so I have both a boss above me and team members below me. Occasionally, I think: “What if my boss was actually a cat?”

If that were the case, imagine the kind of boss a cat would be. Cats bring comfort, make our hearts lighter, and brighten our days. So how would we, as team members, respond to a cat boss? Most likely by giving our very best!

What Makes a Cat Boss…🐾

Independent and Free

A cat boss would do things at their own pace and let us work freely. Under such leadership, we’d likely perform at our best naturally.

Playfully Unpredictable

Some days, the cat boss might be fully engaged, other days… not so much. But this unpredictability isn’t bad—it can stimulate creativity and even boost motivation.

Benefits of a Cat Boss 😺

Working under a cat boss could be surprisingly fun. Even during busy workdays, the cat boss’s presence would bring small moments of joy and relaxation.

Little Perks That Matter

  • Freedom to work at our own pace, even if occasionally interrupted.
  • Mood boosts from watching the cat boss’s whims—suddenly you feel lighter and more motivated.
  • Psychological benefits—studies show that interacting with cats can increase self-esteem and happiness.
  • Praise feels extra delightful, and even “scolding” is charming rather than stressful.

How to Work with a Cat Boss 🐾

Tips for Thriving

  • Understand their communication style: Cats don’t give verbal instructions, so you need to read their moods and intentions.
  • Expect unpredictability: Their behavior may be inconsistent, so adapt to changing “directions.”
  • Respect their independence: Cats value autonomy, so support team members’ individual strengths and approaches.
  • Adjust motivation methods: Cat bosses are driven by their own interests; sometimes creative ways are needed to inspire the team.
  • Don’t stress over mistakes: Even if the cat boss misjudges something, it’s best to let it slide.
  • Observe their preferences: Understanding what the cat boss likes helps maintain harmony.

In Short: Why a Cat Boss Rocks

A cat boss would bring joy, inspiration, and gentle challenges. To work well with them, you need to understand their habits and pace, and match your work style accordingly.

So next time you feel stuck at work… try imagining a cat boss watching over you. You might just find yourself a little lighter, a little happier, and maybe even a bit more motivated!

Bonus: Book Recommendation 📚

”Cat CEO” by Tom Funder

A funny webcomic turned book about what happens if your CEO were a cat.
Even across countries, cats are still… well, cats.
A hilarious and heartwarming read for anyone curious about creative leadership—and of course, cat lovers!

How My Favorite Pen Boosts Work, Focus & Creativity — A Gentle Dive into the Fountain Pen World

How My Favorite Pen Boosts Work, Focus & Creativity — A Gentle Dive into the Fountain Pen World

🖋️ My Current Obsession: The Pilot Kakuno

So yeah, I figured it’s about time I finally got myself a fountain pen. I mean, I’m not getting any younger, right? 😅
After some Googling and a bit of digging, I stumbled upon the Pilot Kakuno — a simple, inexpensive fountain pen that somehow stole my heart.

It’s nothing fancy — around $12 or so — but once I started using it, I just couldn’t stop. I even picked up two more with different nib sizes.

Now, I’ve swapped my usual ballpoint pens for these little wonders. I use them so much that some nib sizes need a new cartridge in less than a month! 😳

💡 Small Tools, Big Impact

Here’s the thing: little everyday tools can quietly make a big difference in your work.
Using a pen you love can turn writing into something enjoyable, and it actually helps boost creativity and focus.

The smooth glide of the Kakuno feels amazing in your hand and even helps ease stress a bit.

🧠 Handwriting Boosts Memory

Writing by hand is more than just putting words on paper.
When I jot things down with my Kakuno, ideas and important info stick in my mind longer.
Moving your hand while processing thoughts is a surprisingly effective way to remember things.

🌈 Motivation, Confidence, and Colors

Just picking up your favorite pen can lift your spirits, spark motivation, and even make you feel a little more confident.
And the best part? That energy tends to rub off on people around you.

Ink color matters too — switching it up can help organize notes, match your mood, or simply make writing more fun.

🖋️ Standing Out in a Digital World

Let’s be real: offices are mostly paperless these days. But pulling out a fountain pen can make you stand out.

Imagine this:

I’m in a meeting with a big client. Between serious talks, my Kakuno comes up. They’re curious, I get to brag a bit about the nib and colors… and suddenly, they ask, “Mind if I try it?”

And before I know it… contracts get signed. 😉

🔧 The Magic Between Work and Tools

Even a single pen can impact how you work and feel. Tools — pens, notebooks, planners — are more than objects; they’re allies in productivity and creativity.

Efficiency

The right tools make everyday work smoother. A notebook or planner that suits you can streamline tasks and ideas.

Creativity

Writing by hand sparks new ideas and helps organize thoughts. A pen you love makes the process enjoyable.

Professional impression

Quality tools leave a tidy, polished impression and subtly showcase your style.

Communication

Handwritten notes or cards build warmth in relationships — something digital can’t always capture.

Stress relief

Writing by hand is surprisingly relaxing. The flow of pen on paper calms the mind.

🌿 Final Thoughts

Stationery is more than just tools. It reflects how we work, think, and express ourselves.
Finding a pen that feels right for you can make work more enjoyable and meaningful.

Just like my encounter with the Pilot Kakuno, your perfect pen might be waiting to brighten your day. 🐾
