Tiny Wins, Tiny Cheers: Celebrate Yourself Every Day

How to Stay Positive: Appreciate the Little Things (and Maybe Even Compliment Yourself!)

by Monstera via Pexels

#Gratitude #SelfCompliment #FindHappiness #ThankYou #YouDidGreat

Hello everyone! Good morning, good afternoon, good evening! I am MMPP.key-_-bou.

I realized that while I often say, “Let’s stay positive!”, I haven’t really shared concrete ways to actually become more positive.

Honestly… most of the time, I just enjoy a drink and go, “Yum!”
But if you frame it as a reward for yourself—like dangling a carrot in front of a horse—it can actually have a small positive effect.

Of course, drinking too much can lead to negative outcomes, but if you enjoy it responsibly, it’s perfectly fine. And hey, sometimes it’s okay to let loose and have fun!
(Just make sure the people around you are aware and okay with it. Usually, they’ll let it slide at least once… probably… maybe…)

Anyway, let’s put alcohol aside for now.

The Main Point: Appreciate Small Things and Compliment Yourself!

Negative thoughts usually stem from negative emotions. So how can we cultivate positivity?

Gratitude and compliments are simple yet powerful tools—they create positive feelings.

Even ordinary things can be opportunities to say “thank you” or “well done!”

  • When you wake up: “Thanks for another day of life! Good job getting up this morning!”
  • If someone made breakfast for you: “Thank you! This is delicious!”
  • If you finish your meal: “Great job finishing your food!”
  • If you don’t finish everything: “Good job listening to your body and making the right choice for yourself!”

These small gestures not only make you feel good but also give you a sense of accomplishment. And don’t forget—you can do this for others as well.

Small actions add up. They’re easy ways to boost your mood and find joy in everyday life.

Of course, you don’t have to force gratitude or over-pamper yourself. Start with a comfortable level that works for you.

Gratitude can increase self-satisfaction and happiness, and it also helps you notice little moments of joy.

The beauty is, you’re in control. You decide whether to show gratitude or give compliments. And that choice itself can be empowering.

You may notice that people who constantly complain can bring the mood down, while those who naturally express gratitude and positivity can lift everyone around them. Maybe words really do have power after all.

Even if you tend to overthink or focus on negatives, try complimenting yourself for being thoughtful. Perfectionists might enjoy experimenting with these small steps and seeing how they accumulate into a bigger change.

No special skills or tools are needed. Anyone can start anytime.

The rule is simple: Appreciate even the smallest things, and if you can, give yourself a compliment!

A Bonus Tip: Pair Gratitude with a Small Gift

If you want to express your gratitude more concretely, giving a small token can make your appreciation even more effective. Here are a few examples:

  • Soap Flower Gift Box – Perfect for birthdays, Father’s/Mother’s Day, or just because
  • Kakitane Assorted Snacks – Great for sharing and gifting
  • NEKO-SAN Cookies – Cute cat-shaped cookies with a postcard
  • Mini Fruit Tea Sets – Fun and tasty for tea lovers
  • Special Drinks like Kanpachi Shochu or Louis Roederer Sparkling Wine – Unique and memorable gifts

Small gestures, whether verbal or tangible, go a long way in spreading positivity.

Are Your Weaknesses Secret Superpowers? Discover Your Personality Type

Are Your Weaknesses Secret Superpowers? Discover Your Personality Type

#StrengthsVsWeaknesses #KnowYourself #SunTzuWisdom #PersonalityTypes #BeProudBeWeird

Good morning, good afternoon, good evening, hello everyone, and welcome!
I’m MMPP.key-_-bou — the one and only, probably.

Today’s topic is something we all think about while staring at the ceiling at 2am:

Are my weaknesses actually strengths wearing fake mustaches?

Spoiler: YES.
(But sometimes… still no. Life is complicated.)

Weakness or Strength?
Honestly, it’s all about branding.

Humans are beautifully flawed creatures.
We’re like limited-edition products with bonus bugs included.

“Cautious” → Wow, responsible! Genius!
“Indecisive” → Hey, just pick one already!

Same behavior.
Different PR department.

Short attention span?
Let’s rebrand that as:

Hyper Curiosity Turbo Mode

The outcome decides whether people call it a “superpower” or “a disaster.”
Funny how the world works.

All of It = YOU

The good, the bad, and the “why am I like this?”

If you know your so-called weaknesses,
you can use them as secret weapons.

Your flaws aren’t errors — they’re hidden features.
(Just don’t overuse them. Too much of anything can break the system.)

Sun Tzu Would Approve📜

The world can be harsh toward weaknesses.

Know yourself. Know others.
And avoid unnecessary life face-plants.

Thanks, Master Sun.

Discover Your Personality Type!

I found this excellent personality test based on 16 personality types — widely used around the world.

And guess what?
I’m basically the INFP — the dreamer and idealist vibe.
(Deep feels, big imagination — emotions run long, really.)

It reveals:

  • Your strengths & weaknesses
  • What stresses you out
  • Work life & best environments
  • Romance tendencies 💘
  • Compatibility (a.k.a. who will ghost you)

Make your friend take it too.

Knowing compatibility can save lives. Probably.

Final Thoughts

Strength? Weakness?
Depends on how you spin it.

Your quirks, your chaos, your accidental comedy…
They all make you YOU.

Use them. Enjoy them.
Because life is way more fun that way.

Thanks for visiting!
Don’t forget to embrace both your awesomeness and your awkwardness.

See you in the next episode!

Starbucks and Me: A Short Short Story “All-You-Can-Pour Milk”

Short-Short: All-You-Can-Pour Milk

This also happened back when I was living in the U.S.

Every town seemed to have that Starbucks with the green logo.

A morning Starbucks.

The smell of fresh-roasted beans drifting slowly,

soft old jazz playing in the background.

People were glued to their laptops,

each enjoying their own personal time.

At the end of the counter sat the condiment bar:

Sugar, napkins, straws—and milk.

Whole, 2%, Nonfat, Half & Half.

Just seeing the lineup made me a little excited.

You’d never see this freedom in Japan.

At first, I poured just a little.

Didn’t want to mess with the coffee aroma.

But one morning, a thought hit me:

“…Wait. Can’t I add as much as I want?”

I tilted the pitcher.

White liquid flooded my cup.

I thought a barista glanced at me—

I quickly looked away.

Well, it’s the “land of the free,” right?

Then I noticed a college student next to me

just dumping milk into his cup with a big grin.

“Free country, right?” he laughed.

I nearly burst out laughing and muttered,

“That’s… milk with a hint of coffee!”

I raised my cup toward him and said,

“Yeah… your coffee, your responsibility.”

We both smirked with a quiet “hehe.”

Our laughter blended with the jazz

and disappeared into the morning air.

Another day in America—

just a little too free.

※Phrase Note

“Your coffee, your responsibility.”
A playful twist on the idea that freedom always comes with responsibility.
In other words:
“Do what you like — but it’s on you!”

A tiny joke that tastes a lot like the American spirit.

Coffee, Names, and Me

Starbucks and Me: A Short Short Story “Too-Hot Sandwich & a Gentle Moment”

Short-Short: Too-Hot Sandwich & a Gentle Moment

This happened back when I was living in the U.S.

Every town seemed to have that Starbucks with the green logo.

One afternoon, I ordered a hot sandwich.

Ham & Cheese Panini.

Fresh out of the oven.

It smelled amazing.

I took a big bite—

“HOT!!”

I accidentally said it out loud.

The whole café froze for a second.

A woman across from me chuckled.

“Everyone does that at least once.”

My face was burning… not just because of the sandwich.

—Another day.

Same seat.

Same sandwich.

This time, I was careful. Slow and steady.

But the cheese stretched way farther than expected.

Before I realized it,

the cheese string had reached the next table—

Chomp.

A tiny boy took a bite with the biggest smile.

His mom panicked.

“Oh my gosh, I’m so sorry!”

I waved it off with a laugh.

“It’s okay. Sharing is caring.”

Laughter spread around us.

In the warm smell of toasted cheese,

another small, gentle moment was shared today.

※Phrase Note

“Sharing is caring.”
A common phrase in English.
Literally: “Sharing shows you care.”
But usually, it’s more like:
“Let’s split it — how sweet of us!”
“Half for you, half for me!”

A simple phrase that warms the heart. ☺️

Starbucks and Me: A Short Short Story "Coffee, Names, and Me"

Short-Short: Coffee, Names, and Me

This happened back when I was living in the U.S.

Every town had that Starbucks with the green logo.

The first time I went in, the barista asked,

“Name?”

“Uh… Kenta,” I said.

The cup came back with “Tenta”.

The next day, I tried again.

This time: “Cant”.

The day after: “Kemto”.

At this point, it felt like a spelling quiz.

When they called out the orders in the store, it went something like:
“Ten! Tall Drip Coffee!”

…Who even is that? I still raised my hand.

Eventually, I gave up and just said,
“K.”

That way, there was no way they could get it wrong.

“Kay! Tall Drip Coffee!”

Ah… peace at last.

But one day, I thought, if I were back in Osaka, I’d probably do this…

When the barista asked,
“Name?”

I smiled and said,
“Justin Bieber.”

The student sitting next to me nearly spilled their coffee.

When my drink was ready, the barista called out,
“Justin Bieber! Caramel Macchiato!”

I raised my hand slightly and said,
“That’s me.”

Everyone turned to look, and a wave of laughter filled the café.

For a moment, amidst the smell of coffee, America felt a little closer.

P.S. Americans… they have a funny way of enjoying little moments like this.

Make Your Dreams Come True… if I Can Do It, Anyone Can!

Make Your Dreams Come True… if I Can Do It, Anyone Can!

With over 4.5 million copies sold in Japan alone, “Elephant paperback edition that dream come true” (夢をかなえるゾウ:Yume wo kanaeru Zou) is one of the most beloved self-help book series in Japan. This fun and inspiring story can motivate anyone to take small steps toward achieving their dreams.

Work & Career | Personal Growth | Everyday Thoughts

You know how there are tons of self-help books out there?
Some people take action and change their lives… at least that’s what they tell you.

But honestly?
Most of us are still stuck exactly where we started.
And yes — I’m totally one of those people 😂

We all want to take the first step.
But sometimes even the first step feels like a giant leap, right?

Like:
• “Buy a book?” → Ugh.
• “Ask someone for help?” → Maybe tomorrow.
• “Actually do something?” → …let’s not talk about it.

That’s me. All the time.

And then later I’m like:
“Wow, if only Past Me had done that… 😇”
(And sometimes Future Me is like: “Why did you do that?!”)

But — even a hopeless dreamer like me found a book series that actually helped.
Not in a dramatic “my life changed overnight!” way,
but in a gentle “hey, maybe I believe in myself a bit more today” way.

It taught me something important:

Reading doesn’t change your life. Acting does.

So my first takeaway:

Choose your own action. Even if it’s tiny.
(Yes, buying a book counts as action!)

🐘 “Dreams Come True” — Elephant Edition

This series is:
💡 Motivational
😂 Super funny
😭 Sometimes emotional
✨ Really easy to love

Unfortunately, there is no English edition available as of November 2025. It’s disappointing, but maybe this is a great chance to enjoy the story while learning Japanese—two birds with one stone!

If an English version is released in the future, I’ll definitely introduce it here again!

You can start anywhere — but read Book 0 last for maximum heart-punch.

The Book Series

  • Elephant paperback edition that dream come true ― Book 1
    Theme: Success Strategies(夢をかなえるゾウ1:in japanese)
  • Elephant paperback edition that dream come true ― Book 2
    Theme: Money and Happiness(夢をかなえるゾウ2:in japanese)
  • Elephant paperback edition that dream come true ― Book 3
    Theme: Work and Romance(夢をかなえるゾウ3:in japanese)
  • Elephant paperback edition that dream come true ― Book 4
    Theme: Death(夢をかなえるゾウ4:in japanese)
  • Elephant paperback edition that dream come true ― Book 0
Theme: How to Find Your Dreams(夢をかなえるゾウ0:in japanese)

🌱 In the End…

If you want something that feels like a supportive kick in the butt —
with laughter, tears, and a divine elephant —
this series might be your new favorite.

And hey… if a constantly-second-guessing, slightly-regretful,
“I’ll do it tomorrow” human like me can take a step?
You definitely can too.

Start Your Day #2 – Say “Good Morning!” with Energy

Start Your Day #2 – Say “Good Morning!” with Energy

Hi everyone! MMPP.key-_-bou here — zap a little spark wherever you are!

Welcome back to the Start Your Day series — where tiny habits lead to big smiles and brighter days.

Do you still greet people properly — “Good morning,” “Hello,” “Good evening,” “Good night”? We all learned greetings are important back in school, yet as adults, many forget to actually do it!

Why Saying “Good Morning!” with Energy Works

1. It Boosts Your Motivation

Taking the initiative to greet someone lifts your own mood. That simple “Good morning!” helps flip your mental switch and start the day positively.

2. It Makes Communication Smoother

People naturally feel more comfortable around cheerful greeters. If you’re known as that friendly person who always says good morning, talking to or with you becomes easier.

3. It Reduces Stress

Starting your day with positive energy eases tension. No overthinking required—just saying “Good morning!” out loud is a simple stress release.

Bonus: The Ripple Effect

A cheerful greeting spreads positivity and builds trust. It’s free, easy, and has no downsides. Try it—you might already feel like sharing a bright greeting right now!

For the Shy or Introverted

If you’re shy, no problem. Gentle eye contact and a soft “Good morning” are enough. When your greeting feels genuine, people notice. That tiny act gives you a sense of accomplishment too.

Here’s a tip: while brushing your teeth, practice saying “Good morning!” to yourself in the mirror. Make it a daily habit. Soon, seeing a face will automatically trigger your “greeting switch.” Once you reach this stage, shyness or awkwardness won’t matter. Try it—you’ll be surprised!

Start Your Day with Music: The Secret to a Happier Morning

Start Your Day with Music: The Secret to a Happier Morning

Life & Work | Daily Positivity | Mindset & Ideas

Morning Music - Engin_Akyut via Pixabay

🌅 What’s Your Morning Routine?

Do you stretch first thing in the morning?
Enjoy breakfast with a cup of coffee?
Check the weather forecast, or maybe glance at your horoscope before heading out?
Or perhaps you’re already in the middle of the morning rush?

As for me, there’s one simple thing I do (not only in the morning, actually!) that instantly lifts my mood and helps me start the day with a smile.

That’s right — I listen to music. 🎧

How Music Changes Your Mood

Music has a special power — it moves your heart, wakes up your brain, and even makes your body want to dance.

I’m not a scientist, but plenty of studies have shown that music affects our brains in fascinating ways.
(We’ll skip the science part for now, promise 😉)

What Happens When You Listen to Music in the Morning

  • You start humming without realizing it.
  • Your body naturally starts to move.
  • Your mind feels lighter.
  • And you somehow feel more confident — like, “Hey, I’m that person who listens to music in the morning. I’m doing great!”

It might sound silly, but that little bit of energy carries through the whole day.

What Kind of Music Works Best in the Morning?

1. Current Hits

They reflect the mood of the times. Even just knowing what’s trending can make you feel more connected to the world.

2. Your All-Time Favorites

That “Oh, I love this song!” moment never fails to lift your spirit.

3. Reggae Vibes

If you’ve never tried it — give reggae a shot! It’s full of rhythm, warmth, and good energy. There’s always a beat that fits your mood.

4. Songs from Your Teen Years

The nostalgia is real — lyrics, memories, even old TV shows come flooding back. They remind you of who you were, and that always sparks a smile.

5. Anything Random!

Even if you’re not into music, try listening to random playlists or radio shows. You might stumble upon something that unexpectedly clicks.

“New encounters come in many forms — even through sound.”

My Current Favorite: “Memories” by Conan Gray

It’s a bittersweet song about not being able to forget someone, but the melody feels warm and honest — perfect for early mornings.

Start Your Day with a Song

Starting your day with music might be the easiest way to add a spark of joy to your routine.
Whether it’s today’s hits, your forever favorites, or songs from your teenage years — music has a way of warming the heart and setting a positive tone for the day.

Tomorrow morning, try playing one song you love.
You might just discover a new rhythm to your life. 🎶

How Many “Business Buzzwords” Do You Actually Use?

— Thoughts on Japanese office lingo and communication

Have you ever wondered how many business buzzwords you actually use — or even understand?

In Japan, as in many countries, we’ve adopted a huge number of “business terms” — words that were born out of efficiency, global communication, and the need to sound a bit more… well, professional.

In theory, these words should make our conversations smoother.
But somehow, they don’t always feel that way.
Sometimes I wonder if they actually get in the way of understanding each other.

🎧 When you’re the listener…

Knowing common buzzwords definitely helps.

People tend to assume everyone around them shares the same vocabulary. If you stop the conversation every time someone says a strange term, the meeting will take forever.

Understanding buzzwords allows you to follow the discussion, confirm details quickly — and, most importantly, notice when someone uses a word differently than you do.

That’s when you can politely clarify:

“Just to confirm — when you say deliverable, you mean the final report due next week, right?”

See? Efficient and diplomatic.

💬 When you’re the speaker…

Honestly, you don’t have to use business buzzwords at all.
Unless it’s a technical term, plain language usually works better.

Still, if everyone around you is saying things like “touch base” or “ASAP,” it’s natural to mirror that a little — it builds a subtle sense of connection. (Yes, a small psychological trick. Don’t tell anyone.)

And sometimes, you can even make buzzwords fun.

“I totally agree — I mean, I’m super-agree, if that’s a thing.”

It was so ridiculous that everyone laughed — and suddenly, the mood in the room lightened.
That’s the power of playing with words.

🗂️ My first “buzzword shock”

Years ago, I heard my boss say:

“Can you prepare the agenda for the next meeting and share it with everyone?”

At the time, I thought: “Agenda? You mean the schedule or meeting outline, right?”

In Japanese companies, “agenda” used to sound almost too fancy — like something from an overseas boardroom.
Now it’s totally normal, along with assign, workflow, and facilitator.

Back then, though, most meetings were just “report and announcement” sessions.
So hearing “agenda” made me think: “We could’ve just emailed this, couldn’t we?”

Of course, times have changed — and so have I.
Now I can laugh about it. (Mostly.)

🧩 The tricky part

Whether it’s Japanese or English, “communicating clearly” and “understanding correctly” are still the hardest parts of work.

Buzzwords can help — but they can also blur meaning.
It all depends on how we use them.

🧠 Mini Quiz: Do you understand these?

Q1. “Can you sum up the sushi meeting and share it with everyone?”
Q2. “Let’s go to that Italian restaurant that just launched last week!”
“Is it really good? Show me the evidence!”

Can you catch the humor?
If not — that’s okay. These are based on real Japanese office slang where we mix casual words (“sushi” becomes shiisuu) and English buzzwords.
It’s our own weird hybrid language, and honestly, it’s part of the fun.

🪞Final thought

In the end, whether you use “synergy,” “touch base,” or just “talk,” what really matters is that your message gets across.

Buzzwords can sound smart — but clarity always wins.

5 Days of Work, 2 Days Off – Make Your Weekends Awesome!

5 Days of Work, 2 Days Off – Make Your Weekends Awesome!

Hey everyone! Let’s talk about work-life balance – basically, finding the sweet spot between your job and your personal life. It’s all about working hard and enjoying your personal time, taking care of your mind and body, and living happily. When you get this balance right, stress goes down and life feels… way more awesome.

These days, full two-day weekends are pretty standard, and there’s even a push to use your paid leave. Sounds great, right? But then there’s also pressure to get stuff done fast, be super efficient, and always deliver results. Not just time management – we’re talking brainpower management here! Yep… it can be a bit of a headache.

My Weekly Routine (Just to Give You an Idea)

  • Monday: Check my schedule
  • Tuesday: Get stuff done
  • Wednesday: Meetings
  • Thursday: More work
  • Friday: Prep for next week
  • Saturday: Do what I love (lately, reading or blogging… sometimes work sneaks in!)
  • Sunday: Family time = happiness overload

Even with a full two-day weekend, work sometimes spills into Saturdays, and weekday overtime or taking work home is still a thing.

Work-Life Balance in Today’s World

The term “work-life balance” has been around for over 20 years, but if your boss still has a “Showa-era high-growth mindset” (push employees to grind endlessly for results), balance feels like a joke, right? Haha.

Times are changing, though. Younger generations, conscious individuals, and people who are financially comfortable are actually embracing work-life balance and putting it into practice.

I wouldn’t say I’m super conscious about it myself, but I do believe that how we work is key to living happily. The years we work are also the years we’re most energetic and productive, so balance matters.

Research on Work-Life Balance

Work-life balance isn’t just a buzzword. Lots of studies have been done across sociology, psychology, economics, labor science, and organizational studies.

  • Universities & Research Institutes: Analyze surveys and statistics to understand how work-life balance affects people.
  • Government Agencies: Research policies, work hours, and vacation usage to support better balance.
  • International Organizations: ILO and OECD share global trends and best practices.
  • Companies: Some companies survey employees to improve working environments.

These studies show how important balance is and how it can be achieved in real life.

How to Actually Achieve Work-Life Balance (Friendly Tips)

  1. Plan Your Schedule: Know what your week looks like—work, school, personal plans, everything.
  2. Set Priorities: Focus on what’s most important. Work/study matters, but so does personal and family time.
  3. Take Breaks & Relax: Even on busy days, make time to recharge. Your mind and body will thank you.
  4. Communicate: Keep in touch with family and friends. Understanding and helping each other keeps your heart balanced.
  5. Manage Screen & Leisure Time: Smartphones, games, and hobbies are fun, but don’t let them take over. Balance is key. (And watch that alcohol intake! Haha, just saying.)
  6. Go at Your Own Pace: Progress comfortably. Don’t overdo it, but when it’s crunch time—give your best!

Closing Thoughts

Work-life balance might not be perfect at first, but small, consistent efforts can make life happier and more fulfilling.

Think of it as Happy Balance Life. Let’s enjoy life, little by little, and keep those smiles coming! Seeing everyone happy makes all the effort worthwhile. 😄

Work Feels Different When You Think Positive | Part 2: Imagine a Cat Boss: Transform Your Team & Leadership

Work Feels Different When You Think Positive | Part 2: Imagine a Cat Boss: Transform Your Team & Leadership

Sometimes I Like to Imagine…

Sometimes I like to imagine… what if my boss were a cat? 🐱

I’m currently a middle manager, so I have both a boss above me and team members below me. Occasionally, I think: “What if my boss was actually a cat?”

If that were the case, imagine the kind of boss a cat would be. Cats bring comfort, make our hearts lighter, and brighten our days. So how would we, as team members, respond to a cat boss? Most likely by giving our very best!

What Makes a Cat Boss…🐾

Independent and Free

A cat boss would do things at their own pace and let us work freely. Under such leadership, we’d likely perform at our best naturally.

Playfully Unpredictable

Some days, the cat boss might be fully engaged, other days… not so much. But this unpredictability isn’t bad—it can stimulate creativity and even boost motivation.

Benefits of a Cat Boss 😺

Working under a cat boss could be surprisingly fun. Even during busy workdays, the cat boss’s presence would bring small moments of joy and relaxation.

Little Perks That Matter

  • Freedom to work at our own pace, even if occasionally interrupted.
  • Mood boosts from watching the cat boss’s whims—suddenly you feel lighter and more motivated.
  • Psychological benefits—studies show that interacting with cats can increase self-esteem and happiness.
  • Praise feels extra delightful, and even “scolding” is charming rather than stressful.

How to Work with a Cat Boss 🐾

Tips for Thriving

  • Understand their communication style: Cats don’t give verbal instructions, so you need to read their moods and intentions.
  • Expect unpredictability: Their behavior may be inconsistent, so adapt to changing “directions.”
  • Respect their independence: Cats value autonomy, so support team members’ individual strengths and approaches.
  • Adjust motivation methods: Cat bosses are driven by their own interests; sometimes creative ways are needed to inspire the team.
  • Don’t stress over mistakes: Even if the cat boss misjudges something, it’s best to let it slide.
  • Observe their preferences: Understanding what the cat boss likes helps maintain harmony.

In Short: Why a Cat Boss Rocks

A cat boss would bring joy, inspiration, and gentle challenges. To work well with them, you need to understand their habits and pace, and match your work style accordingly.

So next time you feel stuck at work… try imagining a cat boss watching over you. You might just find yourself a little lighter, a little happier, and maybe even a bit more motivated!

Bonus: Book Recommendation 📚

How My Favorite Pen Boosts Work, Focus & Creativity — A Gentle Dive into the Fountain Pen World

🖋️ My Current Obsession: The Pilot Kakuno

So yeah, I figured it’s about time I finally got myself a fountain pen. I mean, I’m not getting any younger, right? 😅
After some Googling and a bit of digging, I stumbled upon the Pilot Kakuno — a simple, inexpensive fountain pen that somehow stole my heart.

It’s nothing fancy — around $12 or so — but once I started using it, I just couldn’t stop. I even picked up two more with different nib sizes.

Now, I’ve swapped my usual ballpoint pens for these little wonders. I use them so much that some nib sizes need a new cartridge in less than a month! 😳

💡 Small Tools, Big Impact

Here’s the thing: little everyday tools can quietly make a big difference in your work.
Using a pen you love can turn writing into something enjoyable, and it actually helps boost creativity and focus.

The smooth glide of the Kakuno feels amazing in your hand and even helps ease stress a bit.

🧠 Handwriting Boosts Memory

Writing by hand is more than just putting words on paper.
When I jot things down with my Kakuno, ideas and important info stick in my mind longer.
Moving your hand while processing thoughts is a surprisingly effective way to remember things.

🌈 Motivation, Confidence, and Colors

Just picking up your favorite pen can lift your spirits, spark motivation, and even make you feel a little more confident.
And the best part? That energy tends to rub off on people around you.

Ink color matters too — switching it up can help organize notes, match your mood, or simply make writing more fun.

🖋️ Standing Out in a Digital World

Let’s be real: offices are mostly paperless these days. But pulling out a fountain pen can make you stand out.

Imagine this:

I’m in a meeting with a big client. Between serious talks, my Kakuno comes up. They’re curious, I get to brag a bit about the nib and colors… and suddenly, they ask, “Mind if I try it?”

And before I know it… contracts get signed. 😉

🔧 The Magic Between Work and Tools

Even a single pen can impact how you work and feel. Tools — pens, notebooks, planners — are more than objects; they’re allies in productivity and creativity.

Efficiency

The right tools make everyday work smoother. A notebook or planner that suits you can streamline tasks and ideas.

Creativity

Writing by hand sparks new ideas and helps organize thoughts. A pen you love makes the process enjoyable.

Professional impression

Quality tools leave a tidy, polished impression and subtly showcase your style.

Communication

Handwritten notes or cards build warmth in relationships — something digital can’t always capture.

Stress relief

Writing by hand is surprisingly relaxing. The flow of pen on paper calms the mind.

🌿 Final Thoughts

Stationery is more than just tools. It reflects how we work, think, and express ourselves.
Finding a pen that feels right for you can make work more enjoyable and meaningful.

Just like my encounter with the Pilot Kakuno, your perfect pen might be waiting to brighten your day. 🐾

One Lazy Long Weekend — Finding Joy in Ordinary Days

One Lazy Long Weekend — Finding Joy in Ordinary Days

Sometimes happiness isn’t found in big events or plans, but in slow mornings, small adventures, and the quiet company of family.

There was a time — not so long ago — when Sundays were the only day off.
(Yes, that might sound like something straight out of the Showa era!)

Back then, even our days off were full of “input and output,” endless events, and constant busyness.

But now, in this new era of work-life balance, we’re told:

Keep your productivity high — and make sure to rest properly.

So that’s what I did: a long weekend dedicated not to doing more,
but to simply being — slowly, happily, and positively.

📚 A Trip to the Library

I went to the library with my youngest child.
We ended up borrowing nearly 30 books — and yes, my arms were screaming on the way home.
(Okay, fine, a few of those books were mine too… 😅)

We also stopped by the 100-yen shop next door.
My kid picked out a few treasures with great satisfaction.

🍺 Small Joys and Simple Adventures

Later, I went grocery shopping with my wife.
She treated me to a can of Kinmugi, the limited-edition summer “fireworks design.”

Then, my son and I embarked on an epic adventure —
in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
I keep dying way too fast… these controls have way more than two buttons, right!? 🎮💀

We even made fried rice together (well, I might have taken over a bit too much — and got scolded for it).
And in the evening: Karaage Party! Crispy, delicious, and filled with laughter.

Karaage Party with Kinmugi
My wife treated me to a can of Kinmugi, a popular Japanese summer beer with a special fireworks design.

🛋️ Ordinary Bliss

I read, took naps, did a few squats, went for a bike ride,
checked my kid’s homework (grading style: generous ),
vacuumed the floor, cleaned the bathroom, hung up the laundry…

Nothing fancy. No big events.
Just a quiet, comfortable weekend surrounded by the people I love.

And yet — when I think about it —
there was no illness, no accidents, no disasters, no wars, no aliens,
 no underground invasions, no chaos.

Just peace, calm, and small joys.

That, in itself, is something to be deeply thankful for.

Gratitude for an ordinary day — that’s the real luxury.

Work Feels Different When You Think Positive | Part 1: How It Transformed My Workday

Work Feels Different When You Think Positive | Part 1: How It Transformed My Workday

Introduction: Positive Thinking at Work

Good morning! I’m MMPP.key-_-bou — a middle manager, a dad, and someone working in product development here in Japan.

When it comes to work, positive thinking is often said to bring a lot of good things — higher motivation, reduced stress, greater creativity, and even a positive influence on the workplace itself.

Of course, not everything in life is that simple, but generally speaking, I think it’s pretty true.

Facing a Challenging Task

For example — Imagine being assigned to a new task that feels way over your head.

I’ve actually had that kind of experience before. Out of nowhere, my company said, “America is the center of the world!” and sent me to the U.S. to help launch a new branch as part of the product development team. (And yes, that U.S. branch is still alive and well in 2025!)

If your first thoughts are “Ugh, I really don’t want to do this…” or “What if I fail?”, the task will probably start to feel painful. Even if you technically have the skills to pull it off, both you and the person who assigned it might not end up fully satisfied with the result — not to mention the stress that hits you along the way.

The Power of a Positive Mindset

On the other hand, if you approach it with a positive mindset — “Alright, this is a great chance! I’m going to do my best and see it through!” — your motivation lasts longer, the stress feels lighter, and your brain starts spinning with new ideas and possibilities.

Under Pressure: Your Boss’s Perspective

Your boss will likely feel more confident in you, root for you, and expect better results, too.

That’s exactly how positive thinking leads to higher motivation, less stress, and greater creativity.

Enjoying What You Love

What Feels Good vs. What Feels Bad

If that feels too abstract, let’s think of something else. Picture yourself doing something you love — say, watching cats or enjoying a good drink. Now, imagine doing something you hate instead (though honestly, it’s hard to imagine hating cats). Or being forced into something unpleasant — like attending a drinking party filled with awkward pressure or harassment. Sure, that 100,000-yen(about US$7,000) bottle might taste great, and I do believe alcohol itself isn’t the villain here… but still — not fun, right?

So, which situation makes you feel more alive and motivated?

And when you’re doing something you genuinely enjoy, don’t you sometimes lose track of time — even forget to eat or sleep?

In Short / Key Takeaways

Positive thinking clearly affects how we work.

Since work takes up so much of our lives, learning to enjoy it can truly make life richer and more fulfilling.

If there’s ever a “Part 2,” I’d like to write about how positive thinking influences teamwork and leadership.
Or maybe something like “If My Boss Were a Cat…” 🐱

Living Fully: Past, Future, and the Messy, Beautiful Now

Living Fully: Past, Future, and the Messy, Beautiful Now

— How I Try to Live Without Too Many Regrets

"I’d rather regret doing something than regret not doing it.
Well… not every time, but you get the idea.
Life feels better when we care about our past, our future, and our now."

The past—whatever happened, whatever we did or didn’t do—is already sealed.
The good, the bad, the embarrassing… all of it.
We can’t edit it like a bad selfie.
But maybe we can recycle it—turn those memories into something useful for the future.

So, what should we do right now?

  • Maybe take a short break.
  • Sit still.
  • Do absolutely nothing for a few minutes. (It’s surprisingly productive.)

Or, work hard—but sneak in a little time for yourself.
Do something you actually like.

Have a drink. 🍺
Laugh at your own joke (someone has to).
Then, when you’re ready, take a small step forward— with a smile and a bit of courage.

“Sachlich.”

Cool-headed, honest, and quietly hopeful.

How to Use the Power of Forgetting

How to Use the Power of Forgetting

Forgetful? Perfect.
Let your thoughts bloom with Google Keep and Calendar — stay chill, productive, and kind to yourself.
Because sometimes, forgetting isn’t a flaw — it’s space for something new to grow.

The ability to forget is often seen as a flaw — a weakness of memory or attention.
But in reality, “forgetting” is an incredible adaptive strength that allows us to move forward, let go of negative experiences, and embrace new challenges with a lighter heart.

In today’s fast-paced and stressful world, being able to forget — to mentally “reset” — can be a true blessing. Imagine being able to drop your worries, take a deep breath, and start fresh.
That’s the real power of forgetting.

Of course, forgetting can also cause trouble.
We lose track of deadlines, misplace important details, or repeat the same mistakes.
In the past, this might have been an unfixable weakness — but not anymore.

When “Forgetting” Meets Technology

Thanks to digital innovation, we can now keep the benefits of forgetting while eliminating its downsides.
How? By letting digital tools remember for us.

📝 Use Note Apps and Task Managers

Record important ideas, notes, and tasks digitally.
Even if you forget, your app won’t.
Set reminders and priorities so that your tools notify you when something matters.
It’s like having a quiet but reliable assistant who never forgets.

📅 Use Calendar Apps

Schedule events and appointments in a digital calendar.
With notifications and reminders, you’ll never miss a meeting again.
When combined with notes or task apps, you create an ecosystem that manages your mental load effortlessly.

🔐 Other Useful Tools

Password managers, cloud storage, and backup tools help protect your data and memory.
These digital systems reduce your mental burden and prevent loss from accidents or forgetfulness.

The Perfect Balance: Human Forgetfulness × Digital Memory

By combining your natural ability to forget with digital tools, you can:

  • Free yourself from past negativity
  • Keep track of essential information
  • Stay positive and forward-focused
  • Improve productivity without stress

In short, use your brain for creativity and emotion — not for remembering every detail.

My Personal Recommendation

I personally use Google Keep and Google Calendar, synced across my PC and Android phone.
They’re simple, intuitive, and integrate beautifully with other apps.

If you’ve never read a book explaining Google’s services, I highly recommend it.
You’ll be amazed at how much potential you’ve been missing — a true “lightbulb moment.”

📘 Example: “The Complete Guide to Google Services” (Mediax MOOK)
Available on Amazon, Rakuten, and Yahoo Shopping.

So, How Do You Develop the Ability to Forget?

Easy.
 Just Be Positive ♪

Why Being Positive Matters: A Simple Guide to Happier Living

Why Being Positive Matters: A Simple Guide to Happier Living

Positivity isn’t about ignoring reality — it’s about facing life with curiosity, confidence, and a smile.

Photo by Andrea Piacquadio via Pexels

Have you ever wondered why being positive is considered such a good thing?
Let’s take a moment to explore why a positive mindset can make life feel lighter, happier, and more meaningful.

1. Positivity Reduces Stress and Improves Health

Positive people tend to experience less stress and anxiety.
 It’s not magic — it’s perspective.

Think about that classic example: a glass half full of water.
Some see it as half empty, others as half full.
The amount of water doesn’t change — but your outlook does.
And that small difference can change your entire day.

2. Positivity Builds Confidence and Courage

Positive thinkers are more likely to try new things and face challenges.
They understand that failure isn’t the opposite of success — it’s a step toward it.

Instead of saying, “I can’t,” they say, “Let’s try.”
Even if the outcome isn’t perfect, they walk away with growth and experience — not regret.

3. Positivity Fuels Creativity and Problem-Solving

When you focus on what’s possible, your creativity comes alive.
A positive attitude encourages you to act, experiment, and learn.
That’s how ideas turn into progress — one small, brave step at a time.

4. Positivity Strengthens Relationships

A positive attitude helps us connect with others.
If we see people only through bias or assumptions, we miss out on genuine human connection.

Of course, some people can be difficult — and that’s okay.
But holding in frustration or avoiding communication only builds more walls.
Being kind, open, and proactive makes relationships healthier and warmer.

So, Why Choose Positivity?

Because life will always throw challenges your way.
But if your mindset can make those moments a little softer, a little brighter — isn’t that worth it?

Being positive doesn’t mean pretending everything is fine.
It means seeing possibilities even in the middle of problems.
It’s about living with gratitude, curiosity, and hope.

So here’s to staying cheerful, kind, and strong — no matter what life brings.

Cheers to a life worth enjoying! 🥂

I Wish I Were a Cat: The Gentle Art of Living Light

I Wish I Were a Cat: The Gentle Art of Living Light

Ever wished life could feel more like a cat’s day? Bright, curious, calm, and just the right amount of lazy — here’s how to bring a little “cat energy” into your everyday life.

Good morning, good afternoon, and good evening!
I’m starting to believe that living brightly, happily, energetically — and just the right amount of lazily — might actually be the best way to live.
In other words… maybe I just want to live like a cat.

🐱 Do You Like Cats?

I do.
Not only because they’re cute, but because their way of life has something deeply wise about it.
If we humans could live more like cats, don’t you think life might be a little more peaceful — and a lot more fun?

☀️ 1. Brightness — Always Look Cheerful

Cats always seem to have that easygoing, content expression (even when they look sleepy).
If we could smile our way through the day like that —
even when things get rough —
we might find that life starts feeling a little lighter and a lot more enjoyable.

🎮 2. Playfulness — Stay Curious

Cats are endlessly curious. They find joy in the smallest things — a new box, a piece of string, or just a shadow on the wall.
 We can learn from that.

Try new things, dive into your hobbies, or explore something that sparks your curiosity.
Yes, it’s scary at times — but that mix of excitement and uncertainty? That’s where life happens.

⚡ 3. Energy — Keep Moving

Cats move with intention. They stretch, jump, run, nap, and repeat.
Staying active — both physically and mentally — helps us stay balanced and positive.
Even a short walk or a few deep breaths can shift your mood.
A healthy rhythm keeps the heart light and the mind clear.

💤 4. Relaxation — Master the Art of Doing Nothing

If cats had a motto, it would be: “Rest is also progress.”
They nap like it’s their full-time job — and maybe they’re onto something.

We all need to slow down sometimes.
Taking time to rest isn’t being lazy — it’s how we recharge the energy to keep shining.

🧘‍♂️ So, What Can We Learn from Cats?

To live brightly, joyfully, energetically — and yes, a little lazily.
I don’t even own a cat, and I’m not exactly obsessed with them…
but if I could live a bit more like one,
I think life would be a lot more fun.
